About the Role

In this role, you will be a catalyst to ensure the scrum development team embraces agile values / principles and follow scrum ceremonies / processes that aligns with the team culture which extends to providing support in addressing distractions and obstacles faced by team members to align the focus on sprint development.

Besides that, you will also support sprint planning and prioritization to enable the team to achieve sprint goals while keeping tabs on team performance across sprints.

What will you do:

  • Guide and coach the team/organisation in adapting to Agile/Scrum practices
  • Manage scrum ceremonies (daily standup, retrospective, demo, etc.) with scrum teams and able to manage progression of sprint development (resolving/escalating blockers, identifying interdependencies, etc.)
  • Improve transparency within the team and remove impediments at all levels.
  • Build a safe, productive and trusting environment where conflicts can be managed in a healthy way without fear of blame.
  • Create an environment where team can have a sense of “ownership” of the product that is being developed Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests within and across sprints
  • Develop various process solutions across business processes and systems
  • Ensure developed components have the appropriate level of quality and governance (version control, documentation, unit testing)
  • Stakeholder management across business, senior leadership and scrum team

Skills and experience you possess:

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects, with a minimum 3+ years of experience serving in a scrum master role leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced services and enterprise and banking environment
  • Experience leading multiple (3+) teams concurrently, with direct responsibility for tracking & reporting on key metrics
  • Experience in scale scrum implementation (i.e. Scrum of Scrum, LeSS, SaFE) is an added advantage
  • Understanding/knowledge of software best practices, like Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Writing User Stories, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply best practices, e.g., backlog management, capturing burndown & velocity metrics and task-level definition/estimation
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving, conflict-resolution and organizational skills.
  • Degree in Business, Computer science, Computer Engineering or a relevant degree
  • Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, LeSS, SAFE), software development best practices (TDD, CI, user stories, acceptance testing, etc.)
